DRIVING LICENCE - INTERNATIONAL LICENCE, EXCHANGE FOR A SPANISH LICENCE, ADDING A CATEGORY
Spanish residents holding a driving licence issued in a country with which the Spanish government has an agreement can exchange it for an equivalent Spanish licence, provided it was obtained before becoming a resident of Spain.
For licences that only include types A and B vehicles (motorcycles, cars, and light vehicles), no test is required and the exchange process is straightforward.
To exchange licences that authorise the driving of type C and D vehicles (lorries and buses), it is usually necessary to pass a practical test, and sometimes a theory test as well.
You cannot exchange your licence if your country of origin does not appear on the list of countries with an agreement.
Please note that only driving licences issued in the country of origin on plastic cards will be exchangeable.

SCHOOLING: FROM CHILDCARE TO UNIVERSITY
From birth to the age of three, children can participate in early childhood education, also known as preschool. This education is not compulsory and is the only stage of education that is not free.
The next stage of education is for children aged three to six and forms the second stage of early childhood education. The main advantage is that education is now free. The right to basic education is guaranteed, regardless of the family's legal situation. Even if parents are in an irregular situation, are refugees, or do not meet residency requirements, their children must still be enrolled in school.
Compulsory education comprises two stages:
Primary education (for children aged 6 to 12) and compulsory secondary education (for children aged 12 to 16).
IMPORTANT: If you are over 18 and wish to obtain the compulsory secondary education completion certificate, you can take the corresponding exam.
All foreign minors and foreign residents over the age of 18 are entitled to access post-compulsory education and to obtain the corresponding qualifications, as well as to receive scholarships and grants, under the same conditions as Spanish nationals.
Therefore, if you are a migrant or refugee wishing to continue your post-compulsory education outside your country of origin, you can access any level of the Spanish education system provided you meet the academic entry requirements.

STARTING A BUSINESS
There are several legal structures available for setting up a business in Spain. The most common are public limited companies and limited liability companies. However, it is also possible to set up a business as a sole trader, i.e. as an individual. Here are the details of each type of business:
Public limited company: A public limited company must have at least one partner and be incorporated with a minimum share capital of €60,000. This capital is contributed by the partners. It must also have an inventory and annual accounts, as well as a minutes book recording the deliberations of general meetings.
Limited company: Unlike a public limited company, the minimum capital required to set up a limited company is just one euro. This type of company can be set up with just one partner. The share capital is divided into indivisible and cumulative shares, consisting of the partners' contributions. It is also necessary to keep an inventory book and submit annual accounts. This type of company can be set up online or in person.
Limited liability entrepreneur: As an alternative to a limited company, it is possible to register as a limited liability entrepreneur. This option involves being a natural person who carries out an economic activity, with unlimited liability to third parties. However, assets such as housing are protected. Sole trader (self-employed): It is also possible to start a business as a self-employed person with no minimum capital.
Sole Trader (Self-Employed): There is no minimum capital requirement to start a business as a self-employed worker.
The requirements for setting up a business can vary depending on the type of business and the autonomous community in which it is to be established. The first steps should be to define your business plan, choose the legal form under which to establish it, and register the company.

OPENING A BANK ACCOUNT
Depending on whether or not the individual resides in Spain, a foreigner who wishes to open a bank account in the country must provide a series of documents and meet certain requirements that vary depending on the bank chosen.
Opening a bank account is one of the procedures that all foreigners must complete upon arriving in Spain.
To do so, and before facing all the red tape that this and many other processes usually require, you need to have an identity document (NIE, TIE or passport). The method you use to open the bank account will depend on the type of document you choose.
