UNIVERSITY QUALIFICATIONS:

Who is eligible for this procedure?

It applies to anyone who holds a valid diploma or degree obtained from a foreign higher education institution.

What is the deadline for submitting applications?

The application period is open-ended.

For recognition or validation, qualifications or studies must meet the following requirements:

• They must be officially recognised in the education system of the relevant country.

• If the studies were completed at a foreign school in Spain, the school must be authorised to provide these studies by the competent Spanish education authority, in addition to complying with the recognition rules.

• There must be sufficient equivalence with Spanish studies or the reference qualification in terms of academic level, duration, and content.

• Studies abroad must be completed in full within the educational system of the other country.

• All previous academic years must have been successfully completed.

NON-UNIVERSITY QUALIFICATIONS:

Who does this apply to?

It applies to those who have completed their studies in a foreign education system and wish to apply for recognition or validation.

Please note that students from foreign education systems who wish to enrol on any compulsory primary or secondary education course do not need to undergo validation.

What is the deadline for submitting applications?

The application period is open-ended.

For recognition or validation, qualifications or studies must meet the following requirements:

• Recognition of the Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) Certificate: Academic certification equivalent to four years of compulsory secondary education.

• Diploma or certificate of completion.

• Recognition of the first year of the Bachelor's degree (Baccalaureate):

• Academic certification of the last three years.

•  Recognition of the Bachelor's Degree Diploma:

*Academic certification of the last three years.

*Bachelor's degree diploma or certificate.

This certificate proves whether or not you have a criminal record registered in the Central Register of Convicted Persons at the time of issue. Please note that criminal record certificates do not authorise you to work with minors in Spain. For this purpose, a certificate of sexual offences is required.

If you wish to submit your criminal record from your country of origin or previous place of residence, we can make this request for you. In some cases, it will be necessary to translate and/or apostille your document.

Anyone wishing to verify the authenticity of a public document's signature and the author's capacity may request an apostille.

However, only documents intended for a foreign authority and to be produced in another state that is a party to the 1961 Hague Convention may be apostilled.

The following documents may be eligible for an apostille: civil status documents issued within the last three months; notarial acts; administrative acts; judicial acts; and commercial acts.
